Length: Half-Day

A trauma-informed introduction to the mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, and foundational somatic practices using gentle yoga and breathwork.


Key Components:

Psychoeducation: The nervous system, trauma basics, and emotional regulation

Somatic Awareness: Guided body scans, Vagus nerve stimulation. 


Trauma-Informed Yoga: Emphasis on choice, grounding, and breath connection

Pranayama: Intro to breath as a regulation tool (e.g., 3-part breath, alternate nostril breathing)

Integration: Journaling + small group sharing (optional and consent-based)

Embodying Safety & Strength

Length: Full-Day (6–8 hours with breaks)
Target Audience: Individuals with prior yoga experience or interest in deeper healing work


Overview:

A deeper dive into trauma-informed embodiment, cultivating safety in the body, and transforming emotional states through somatic movement and breathwork..


Key Components:

Psychoeducation: Polyvagal theory, trauma responses, and the mind-body loop, generational trauma impacts.

Somatic Practices: Movement for boundary setting, shaking/trembling, voice activation


Yoga: Moderate flow + yin and restorative elements with emotional themes (e.g., grounding, releasing, empowerment)

Pranayama: Breath practices for up- and down-regulating the nervous system

Integration: Journaling + small group sharing (optional and consent-based) Facilitated safe space for group processing

Sacred Integration Series

Length: 4–6 Week Series (weekly 90-minute sessions) Or 2 day intensive for Retreats

Overview:

An intentional series combining education, movement, and community support. Each week focuses on a theme like boundaries, grief, joy, anger, or self-compassion.


Key Components:

Weekly Themes: Emotional intelligence, somatic memory, nervous system mapping

Yoga + Somatics: Practices matched to weekly emotional themes 


Pranayama: Progressively layered breath practices (coherent breathing, lion’s breath, kumbhaka)

Psychoeducation: Digestible lessons to reframe internal experiences


Integration: Journaling + small group sharing (optional and consent-based) Facilitated safe space for group processing

Founded by Sarah, an experienced group facilitator, certified Yoga instructor, Reiki Practitioner, and licensed clinical mental health counselor, Becoming Shala offers more than just a workshop—it’s a sanctuary for growth, connection, and inner peace.

The word Shala means "home" in Sanskrit, symbolizing a place of refuge, learning, and community. At Becoming Shala, we honor this meaning by creating a welcoming environment where you can discover and return to your true self. Our approach is rooted in strong foundations: the grounding practices of Yoga, the power of mindful community, and the deep healing work found in psycho-education.
